New year, new you, huh? It’s that time of year when everyone will be sharing their New Year’s resolutions for 2019. Did you know only 8% percent of people actually stick to their game plans, and that also 80% of resolutions fail? So, here’s a thought…why wait? Why not start now? Not sure what changes to make? We got you. Here are a few goals that you can tackle now and see what happens before that ball drops.
#1 Change Your Diet
Eating healthy is definitely something you can start right now. If you are mentally prepared to commit to a healthier diet, change is literally at your fingertips. Planning out meals saves you time and calories — and you can discover a host of recipes on Pinterest quicker than the time it takes for you to scroll down your Instagram feed. Start by compiling a list of ingredients that you’ll need for meal prep (bonus: you can order them online and have them delivered). Or, if that’s too much work, you can use a meal delivery service such as Blue Apron or HelloFresh to do the thinking for you.
#2 Get Organized
Whether it’s your life, your business, your closet, or all of the above, there’s no time like the present to get your ducks in a row. As a matter of fact, if you start now you’ll go into the new year more prepared for whatever your other goals are. Overhauling your chaotic life can seem hectic, so take baby steps. You can start chipping away at your organizational chores little by little — just get going!
#3 Save More Money
If you’re not in the “I have 6 -12 months of income saved” club, waiting on January 1st to arrive won’t get you there any faster. Start by making sure you are contributing to your company’s 401K plan (especially if they match!) or open up your own IRA or Roth IRA. Sign up for Mint to keep your finances in order and use the Acorns investment app to help you stash away a little more money every week. Kick off your savings strategy with $20 a week and you’ll be proud of yourself by 2020.

#4 Cancel Dead-End Relationships
The beginning of 2019 might be prime time for you to shed some dead weight. Right now is the time to plan your exit strategy and get rid of toxic boyfriends, girlfriends, acquaintances, or whoever you feel is not in full support of your growth. Sounds harsh? Maybe. But why should you spend another day with someone you don’t want in your life anymore? It may get complicated, but making a clean break now will reduce the chance of any drama sneaking its way into your new year.
#5 Exercise And Get Active
Summer bodies are made in the winter, so why not get a head start (because technically it’s still autumn)? Waiting until the new year to exercise will certainly do more harm than good. On average, a person can lose one to two pounds a week. If you got started now with a clean eating diet and rigorous workout plan now, you’ll be lit by New Year’s Eve.
