I’ve never subscribed to the “real body” and “fake body” descriptions that are splashed in headlines or provide fodder for gossipy conversations. There are so many uncontrollable, genetic factors that come into play when it comes to how we’re built, and it’s also none of my business if other women opt for surgery.

But, one thing I can appreciate is women who’ve been through the trenches; who’ve had their bodies stretch out each and every kind of way, and aren’t afraid to tell the world, “This is me and I’m beautiful.”
Of course, I’m talking about all of the inspiring mamas all over the world.
Recently, second-time-moms Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Chrissy Teigen boldly put their postpartum bodies up on the social media Jumbotron for their world to judge.
Days after giving birth to her new baby, Mowry-Hardrict emerged in a purposefully “tented” white dress and told her followers that physically she was still pretty much pregnant under there.
“This is MY #postpartum,” the actress wrote on Instagram. “Two weeks in. Do I still have a belly yes. I actually look like I’m 4 months pregnant and that is OKAY.”
She gave us a bonus look at postpartum life just a day later.
After giving birth to her new son, Miles, Teigen showed up in the kitchen topless and wearing her postpartum panties.
No shade to the women who are able to look snatched in a bathing suit 24 hours after giving birth, but we need more of this.
While nothing new, these images might have lifted the spirits of a woman battling postpartum depression or one who is coming to understand her new body. Those stretch marks are no joke.
Kudos.
I totally agree. Seeing the honesty is so refreshing
Love this movement to get back to reality! Its so nice to see women secure enough with themselves that they dont have to subscribe to the pressure of looking snatched the next day after giving birth.
