Cardi B has been touring all over the place. One of her upcoming dates lists her in Iowa. Is she going to campaign for a Democratic presidential candidate?
Cardi B has been pretty busy these days. Having recently wrapped tour dates in Australia and New Zealand and a steamy performance at the AVN awards over the weekend, everyone is wondering about the “Money” rapper’s next move.
According to the Beat DC, one particular curious appearance date will be in Iowa in May. If you don’t know, Iowa is the place politicians go to caucus a.k.a. put out feelers for their chances to run for office. Cardi for Pres? Not quite.
The Bronx native will actually be present in the Buckeye State for a concert, but (there’s always a but with these things, right?) the Polk County Democrats extended an invitation via Twitter for her to partake in any reception of her choice.
As the center of the IA Caucuses, we have been honored to host @TeamPelosi, @CecileRichards, @KamalaHarris, @SenGillibrand, @PramilaJayapal, @Grace4NY, and many powerful women leaders.— Polk Co. Democrats (@polkdems) January 29, 2019
It only makes sense to invite @iamcardib to a reception of her choice while she’s here in May.
Cardi has yet to respond, but we all know that she is full of surprises and has a lot to say about today’s political climate.
There was recently a campaign, bolstered by late-night TV host Stephen Colbert, for Cardi to actually give the Democratic response to Trump’s State of the Union Speech. Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams will actually give the rebuttal.
I am almost 100% sure Cardi will be an active participant in the 2020 election in some capacity. I can feel it. Maybe she’ll be drafted as an early surrogate for someone like Kamala Harris or Julian Castro. Time will tell.
