Issa Rae is about to shake the whole table for the third season of HBO’s “Insecure.”
We should all know by now that BFF-in-our-head does not play games when it comes to slinging these storylines. Let’s see… so far she’s touched upon intense micro-aggressions in the workplace, multiple cheating scandals, and the ceaseless trials friendships endure, so what could be next?

With two months left until we enter total binge and tweet mode, the 33-year-old dropped a few hints about what to expect when things pop off on August 12.
The next season, Rae revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, will take on an epidemic that has plagued stable black women everywhere: toxic masculinity. Can we get an Amen?

“I don’t want to give anything away! But I love black masculinity as it relates to black women,” she told the magazine. “I think that’s something interesting that we haven’t gotten a chance to explore yet — and specifically toxic male black masculinity as it relates to black women.”

And that’s not all — the cast is expected to grow up in a major way. “I think we’ve watched our characters really fumble and fuck up — and in some ways in your 20s you are allowed that — but this season is about not acting like you’re naive anymore or that you don’t know better, ” she told THR. “So it is about, what does it look like to know better and to do better?”
