Dear Little Starr,
I didn’t expect you, but I’ve embraced all of the changes that being a mom can bring. I love you with all that I am, and that love will only grow with time. You make me better and even though I have to do for you, you’ve taken care of me.
You made me care about my health, sanity, career and just being way more responsible. I vow to protect you and keep you safe. I won’t let my pride get in the way of getting you what you need. I will ask for help, so I can make sure I’m doing the right thing with and for you.
I will always encourage you and remind you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are beautiful and I will never let you forget it.
I will teach you all that I never had and learned and give you all that I never had.
I will remind you that the sky is not the limit…you can do and have your innermost desires as long as you are willing to go get it. I will raise you to be independent yet humble, sweet but nobody’s pushover.
You have a long line of strong admirable women in your bloodline who already can’t wait to help raise you in the way that they will go.
We will not have the typical mommy-daughter relationship. Although this is the closest we will ever be before you get here my little one, our bond will never be broken.
We will have an open dialogue, communicate and be friends. You will respect me as your mother and I won’t relive my teenage years while you go through them to be the “cool mom” to you.
You can come to me with anything as long as you do it respectfully, which is something my mother always told me. I know I will get things wrong and do some things less than perfect because I am still human, but that won’t stop me from giving you my all and doing my best.
I’m pretty sure I’ll be the stricter parent but it’s just to protect you from how crazy things can be as best as I can. You will learn how the world can be in your own time. I’ve gone places and seen some things, hopefully, you will never have to experience. Only God knows your journey and what will be of your life.
You can always trust me to be there for you and have your back. I’m already your number one fan (Daddy will try to argue that, I’m certain). I can’t wait to see what type of personality you will have. Will you be girly? Love sports? Have a great sense of humor? There are so many things I think about when it comes to you. You complete my world now. I thank God for you and I pray over you daily my little Rainbow Baby. We are preparing and patiently awaiting your arrival.
