Rihanna politely declined the NFL’s invite to perform at the Super Bowl to support Colin Kaepernick
We stan a noble queen!
Rihanna isn’t playing any games when it comes to her legacy or her activism. Our favorite peddler of flawless foundation and lingerie reportedly declined to perform for the Super Bowl half-time show in support of Colin Kaepernick.
According to Us Weekly…
“The NFL and Fox really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta,” the insider reveals. “They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.”
Now, many a celebrity have gone as far as to kneel during performances and voice their support for the movement in Instagram captions, but it’s highly doubtful to imagine them passing up on a Super Bowl check!
Maroon 5 has signed onto hit the Super Bowl LII stage in 2019 and rumors have swirled that Cardi B may join them as a guest.
In the meantime, we need the NFL to get on the right side of history, so we can get the half-time show we deserve.
